The Basketball polls are out and Kentucky, Tennessee and Miss. State represent the SEC. Kentucky is 4th and 5th in the polls, Tennessee is 11th and 10th and Miss. State is ranked 18th and 19th.
MSU might be a little underrated, that is if Sidney can get eligible. If he doesnt, that is a good spot for them to me.
Kentucky might be a wee bit overrated, especially since they are planning to start 3 freshman (again, if Wall gets eligible), so they might have some growing pains and everything. Tennessee, that is a good spot for them overall because they return their starting five like MSU does.
Lets hope the Dawgs can win the West and then win the SEC Tourney for the back-to-back.
Well Z as far as the Dawgs winning it I hope the Rebels can actually pull it off this year, I agree that Kentucky may be overrated and I think that even without Sidney State will have a good year. Lets just hope that the SEC can have some major contenders this year.
The Rebs should be better, Terrico White is a pretty good player. Couple players coming back from injury too if I remember correctly. MSU returns their starting five though and a majority of their second unit. Plus, have two good froshes (and one that needs to get eligible!)
SEC should be much better this season, not to say that they were bad last year though.
Some pretty head-scratching losses in their too. UT with a dumb last second shot against Purdue. MSU with a completely underwhelming hoem performance against Rider. UGA losing at home to Wofford and getting blown out at UAB. UK with a couple close games. Rebels have impressed me so far because of what they did in Puerto Rico making the Championship game in that Tourney. Auburn doesn't seem that good either with losses to NC State, UCF, and at Missouri State.
Some enigma's going further into the season out of the SEC, that is for sure. What about 7-0 Florida that knocked out Michigan State (a title favorite) at the Legends Classic.
A breakaway dunk with 2 seconds left, I thought the Golden Eagles had the Rebels beat. MSU absolutely threw down against St. Bonaventure when I went Saturday. 105-53 was the final I believe, we tied a school record with 16 3s made and shot like 60% from the field. We just couldnt miss at all.
We will learn a lot about the Dawgs this week with a trip to Tampa to play DePaul in the SEC-Big East Invitational on Thursday and then a visit to Anaheim to play UCLA on Saturday in the John Wooden Classic.
